Well I was walking home today
I heard are you going the right way.
For a moment I stopped paused
I didn't know what to say.
My subconscious took over me
and it replied yeah mate.
I got little further down the street,
felt increase in my heart rate.
I thought about that voice some more,
Thought to my self what was the score.
It circled round and round my head
until I got to my back door
In the glass I saw my vacant stare,
Felt the warmth of my own breath.
Are these the thoughts I want to have
when I go to buy some bread.
DO I LIVE IN A CITY
THATS BUILT ON OLD TIME DREAMS,
AND ARE THE WALLS HOLDING STRONG
LIKE THE CRACKS IN OLD PUB BEAMS.
When it rains for days on end
the river over flows.
the tourists get their cameras out
The kings Arms gets closed.
Take your valuables up your stairs
And get some sand bags in.
Don't let the cats out on a night
if they 'ant learnt to swim.
DO I LIVE IN A CITY
THATS BUILT ON OLD TIME DREAMS,
AND ARE THE WALLS HOLDING STRONG
LIKE THE CRACKS IN OLD PUB BEAMS.
I still love this city, and now I call it home
I feel the ghosts and history, The streets I like to roam.
There's a lot of mystery these old buildings hold.
