You Don't Know

from Development by Vinnie & The Stars

/

lyrics

I've grown up now mam I'm nearly sixteen.
Things are different now you don't know what I mean.
I'm older I like girls and football.
I know how to fight even though I'm not tall.
The Streets are where I roam, I know where to find a brawl.
I'm not aggressive, you don't know me at all.
Some say I should go kick boxing to calm me down
and my only ambition is been the hardest kid in town.

YOU DON'T THAT MUCH ABOUT GROWING UP

Then one day I finally met my match.
Some kid with a sovereign hit me in a flash.
I felt wet on my face, put my tong in the gash,
Blood dripped out my mouth and went splash on the path.
But that was not it, I was not done.
I wiped my face and said lets have some fun.
I raised my fist the kid started to run.
Then I fainted on the floor and the fight was done.

YOU DON'T THAT MUCH ABOUT GROWING UP

I guess I better give this kick boxing a go
them kids better watch out they don't know what I know.
I put on some gloves to get my anger out,
When I'm beating a bag I don't need to scream and shout.
I don't need to leave a victim on the floor in a state,
Covered in blood filled with violence and hate.
In fact I'm a lot calmer I'm starting to feel great.
My instructor even taught me how to meditate.

YOU DON'T THAT MUCH ABOUT GROWING UP

Now wait a minuet, I really don't need hate and violence.
I much prefer deep breaths and silence.
I feel relaxed, I'm not gritting my teeth, In fact I feel free.
